Every member verifies their mobile number. No anonymous accounts. Every person on BittieTasks is a real, identifiable person.

Trust Score System

Members build a trust score through completed tasks, verified reviews, and consistent behavior. High-trust members get priority placement.

Visible on every profile

Photo Verification

Task completions require photographic evidence. This creates accountability on both sides and documents every transaction.

Required for all tasks

In-App Messaging

All communication happens inside the app. We never share personal contact details until both parties consent. Keep it on-platform.

Currently, all BittieTasks accounts are verified by mobile phone number — confirming every user is a real, identifiable person. Criminal background checks are a planned feature, not currently active. When launched, opt-in checks will earn members a verified badge and higher trust placement. Until then, please use your own judgment when selecting task partners.

Safety Tips by Task Type

Different tasks carry different considerations. Know before you go.

🤝Community Tasks

  • Meet in a public place first for tasks involving your home
  • Tell someone where you're going before a task
  • Start with small, low-stakes tasks to build trust with a new person
  • Check the other person's trust score and reviews before accepting
  • Trust your instincts — you can decline any task or applicant

🔄Barter Exchanges

  • Agree on the full scope of what is being exchanged before starting
  • Document what was offered and received in the app messaging
  • Use the completion photo to document delivery of goods/services
  • Be aware: in the US, barter is considered taxable income by the IRS
  • Report the fair market value of goods/services received on your taxes

🏢Brand Tasks

  • Brand tasks are reviewed and approved before going live
  • Never spend personal money on a brand task without written confirmation
  • All product samples/reimbursements are documented in the task brief
  • You may be required to disclose brand affiliation in any public posts
  • Brand tasks follow FTC guidelines — disclosure is required

Barter & Tax Notice

Important: In the United States, barter transactions are considered taxable income by the IRS. When you exchange services or goods through BittieTasks, the fair market value of what you receive is generally reportable as income, even if no money changes hands. This applies to all barter exchanges.

We recommend keeping a record of all barter transactions and consulting a tax professional if you are uncertain about your reporting obligations. BittieTasks is not a tax advisor and this is not tax advice.

If Something Goes Wrong

We're here to help. Here's how to respond.

Emergency

If you are in immediate danger, call 911. Do not wait. Your safety always comes before completing any task or dispute resolution.

Report Suspicious Behavior

Use the "Report" button on any task or profile. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours. Repeated reports result in account suspension.

Payment Dispute

If a payout is not processed correctly, use the in-app dispute button within 7 days. We review all disputes within 48 hours.

Account Security

If you suspect your account is compromised, contact support immediately. We can lock your account and initiate a full security review.
